Sarum Academy Programme of Study

 

At Sarum Academy we offer a range of courses. In addition to the A Level courses we deliver, we also provide a number of vocational qualifications including BTEC and Professional VTCT Courses. Students are able to select three A Levels, three vocational courses, or a combination of the two*.

The study programme consists of the following:

  • Nine 1-hour lessons per fortnight for each qualification

  • Two 40-minute tutorial sessions/assembly time per week

  • Minimum of two hours of supervised study support per week

  • 1-hour of Sports per week

  • In addition, students are offered a range of additional qualifications including; EPQ and Duke of Edinburgh Award

  • All students in year 12 have an opportunity to access work experience for a week as part of the Careers Programme

  • Students that have not gained a grade 4 in GCSE Maths and/or English will have GCSE lessons and will re-sit the exam at the end of year 12 or 13

*Hairdressing is taken as an equivalent of two qualifications. Sports BTEC can be taken as an equivalent of one, two or three qualifications.
