Newsletter 89 - End of Term 1 Newsletter

End of Term 1

Welcome to our first Newsletter of the year.  I think you will agree that it is a real celebration of all of the fabulous events of Term 1.

As we come to the end of the first term, we have been reviewing the House points students have received since the start of September.  For our ‘values’ badges we look at the ‘net’ points, that is the positive points minus the negative points.  Our school now has 757 students and only 17 students have more negative than positive points!  That means 740 students are successfully working towards the values badges.  Indeed, there are already 20 students who have a ‘net’ House point score of over 200.  Well done to all of you!

All of the Student Leadership groups have now relaunched for the new school year and I had the pleasure of interviewing the impressive Sixth Form applicants for their positions as Head Student or Senior Prefects.  It is wonderful to see a group of Year 11 students also join the Senior Prefect Team this year.

You will hopefully have seen a letter about uniform last week from Mr Parsons.  The majority of students arrive to school looking very smart so many thanks for your support with this.  Some students have skirts which are either too short or made from material which is clingy.  Both of these are not part of the Uniform Policy and are not permitted.  Please ensure your child’s uniform is correct on the first day of Term 2.

Finally, I would like to say well done to all Year 7 students who have completed their transition to secondary school with record breaking numbers of house points on ClassCharts and all Year 12 students who have completed their first term of Post 16 studies!

I hope you and your family have a restful break over half term and we look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, 30th October.
