End of Term 3

As Term 3 draws to a close it has been a fast and furious term! Despite the chilly temperatures there has been lots going on both inside and outside the classrooms. A highlight of the Term has to be the Extended Learning Day last week. There were over 30 local employers and friends of Sarum in the Academy for the Year 7 Aspiration Day, The Year 9 Creative Arts Day and the Year 10 and 12 Mock Interviews. All were a huge success and I am very grateful to members of our wider community who give up their time to support our young people. Some of the art work produced on the day is now being exhibited in Salisbury Library - if you are in Salisbury over half term do pop in and see it!

Year 11 and Year 13 have now completed their second set of Mock Exams which signals their final stretch to the Summer exam season. If your child is in these years they deserve a well done for the last two weeks and plenty of encouragement for the coming months. The whole school community will be looking to support them too!

Term 4 starts with our annual ‘Check it Out’ week. This is always a very uplifting week with The Bridge and DJ Jozzy is back again (he loves Sarum students!!) You can read the full details from our Chaplain Mel and the theme of the week is based around love.

We’ve now confirmed our calendar dates for next academic year, this is as early as we could this year so that it helps you with any future holiday planning. There is a copy at the end of the newsletter and it is also on our website in the Parent section.

Finally, many thanks for the hundreds of stakeholder surveys returned, it is much appreciated.

I hope you and your family have a good break over the half term and I look forward to Term 4 after I’ve done a bit of painting and decorating with my own children!
