End of Term 1

Welcome to our first newsletter of the year. I think you will agree that it is a real celebration of all of the fabulous events of Term 1.

Yesterday I met with the hundreds of students who have only received positive house points this term – that is they have been to every lesson on time, completed every piece of homework and most importantly have Worked Hard and Achieved More in all of their lessons. Well done to all of them and to the many many more who have a very small number of negative points.

All of the Student Leadership groups have now relaunched for the new school year and I had the pleasure of meeting with the new School Council yesterday to discuss social times. Now we are a phone free school we have discussed some new activities and resources which will be available at lunch times in Term 2.

Uniform this term has been of a high standard so many thanks for your support with this. We will be doing a FULL uniform and Yondr pouch check on the first day back, so please ensure blazers are on and any acrylic nails which may have been on over the holidays are removed before the return to school.

Finally, I would like to say well done to all Year 7 students who have completed their transition to secondary school with record breaking numbers of house points on ClassCharts and all Year 12 students who have completed their first term of Post 16 studies!

I hope you and your family have a restful break over half term and we look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday, 1st November. (Monday is an INSET day).
