Principal Ruth Johnson commented that the ' the whole Academy is thrilled with this news - we have been working with Jane and McAlpine for some weeks now and the design gives us a building that is educationally inspiring. There is no doubt it will transform the community.
The innovative and spacious design focuses around the 'school within schools' concept which is at the heart of the academy's ethos giving pupils a sense of belonging and family. As well as embracing the two specialisms of maths and arts, the design makes the most of the stunning views to the south of the site with glazed shared learning areas leading to ICT rich classrooms.
Facilities such as the magnificent 330 seater theatre, hair and beauty salon, motor mechanics workshop and brand new sports pitches will all be available to the local community as well as providing exciting new opportunities for Sarum Academy pupils.
